Triton 5K & Festival

On April 15, 2018, students, alumni, staff, faculty and the greater San Diego community are invited to join UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla for the 22nd annual Triton 5K & Festival. The 3.1 mile, USATF-sanctioned course is a scenic trek through the heart of campus, past towering eucalyptus groves and familiar campus landmarks.

The best part? Race proceeds support student scholarships! For nearly 60 years, we’ve been we’ve been educating, encouraging and creating the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs, researchers, policy makers, scholars, engineers and healers. Run, walk or stroll in support of the next generation of changemakers; you’ll not only impact the future, but make a real dent.

All the details you need to prepare for race day.
Since it was established in 1996, the Triton 5K (formerly the Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk for Scholars) has raised more than $3.8 million, benefiting more than 1,000 motivated and ambitious students.
It’s all about the fun, not the speed. Following the Triton 5K, enjoy a kid-friendly mini course at the Triton Track and Field Stadium.
After the race, enjoy live music, a beer garden, and interactive experiences with your friends and family at the UC San Diego Triton Track and Field Stadium.
Participate as a team! Rally your running or walking partners to form a team to challenge others in the spirit of friendly competition.
The Triton 5K would not be possible without the continued support of our dedicated volunteers! If you would like to participate in the Triton 5K as a volunteer, we would love to have you join us.
